LOGAN COUNTY
EDUCATION FOUNDATION
The Logan County Education Foundation supports educational excellence in our community
by awarding grants to educators and scholarships to students
The Logan County Education Foundation began as a non-profit community organization in 1989. It is exclusively educational and charitable, and serves as an umbrella foundation for all four school systems within Logan County. The foundation has a board of trustees which include six trustees from each school district. These trustees are nominated by their local school board. An executive director manages the day to day operations of the foundation. The Education Foundation was established to secure and distribute contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations for the benefit of students within the county. As a flexible link between public schools and the private sector, our foundation provides the vehicle for channeling private contributions into a range of efforts to support our schools.
The foundation mission statement states the Logan County Education Foundation supports educational excellence in our community by awarding grants to educators and scholarships to students. Since the foundation’s first grant round in 1990, it has invested $304,200.00 in our community in the form of 828 grants for teachers to implement innovative projects in the classroom.
The foundation currently manages a number of scholarships. Since 2000, scholarship funds we manage have invested $232,000.00 in 227 area high school seniors. By facilitating these scholarships, we are able to assure quality award and fund management practices for local residents and assistance to school districts while assisting local students with the rising cost of a post high school education.
The Logan County Education Foundation works with Bellefontaine City, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, and Riverside schools to provide many opportunities to further education. Our organization has 501 (c) (3) status, and all contributions are tax-deductible. Donations can be made as outright gifts, honorary or named gifts, deferred gifts or bequests. For further information, contact Eric Tom, Executive Director, at 121 South Opera Street in Bellefontaine, Ohio, call 937-599-5195 or email lcef@loganesc.k12.oh.us.
