21st ANNUAL FRANKLIN B. WALTER ALL-SCHOLASTIC AWARD
NOMINEES RECOGNIZED

The Logan County Educational Service Center Board of Education and Logan County Education Foundation recognized four area seniors at the April 27 ESC board meeting.  One senior from each district in Logan County was nominated by their high school guidance department to represent the county as a Franklin B. Walter All Scholastic Award nominee.

The Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award Program was established by the Ohio Educational Service Center Association to promote student achievement and to recognize outstanding academic achievement. One senior from each county in Ohio receives this annual honor.  Nominees must be a high school senior enrolled in a local, city or exempted village school district within the ESC’s service region. Eligible students must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement as indicated by high school grades, test scores, community service and awards.

The four local nominees are Thomas Smith, Bellefontaine, Emily Jones, Benjamin Logan, Sarah Crissinger, Indian Lake, and Allison Selhorst, Riverside.  Thomas Smith was selected as the Logan County representative.  He and his parents attended the state-wide awards luncheon earlier this month.  They were accompanied by Logan County ESC superintendent Joyce Roberts, ESC Gifted Coordinator Jennifer Frederick, and BHS principal Christine Galvin.  The Logan County Education Foundation presented each student with a $100.00 check in recognition of their achievement.
